Vision and Values
Antara Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing
progressive healing techniques and educational classes. The center
was established in 2002 by Janice Mickle.
Our Vision
Antara Center is a progressive healing center that
provides a safe and sacred place for all to go within to Seek the Source and Refresh the Spirit. Antara Center
strives to become the leading center in the Southest for
integrative healing, retreat, and spiritually-based
education.
The name Antara is from the Sanskrit meaning from within, from the heart.
Our Values
|
As we move forward, we bring these values to the Center:
- Provide a safe and sacred healing community
- Promoting growth through knowledge and awareness
- Standing in truth and integrity
- Treat self and others with love, kindness and compassion
- Showing honor and respect for all life.
|
We believe that disease occurs when we are not at ease or in harmony with our
physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual bodies.
**Sanskrit is one of the world's most ancient languages and
is derived from the same proto mother language as Latin and
Greek; therefore, many of the words are common. However,
Sanskrit was developed earlier than Latin and Greek which
are Indo/European-based languages. Sanskrit is a language
that provides a vibrational, mystical quality, and it is
believed that many mystics used this language. There is a
strong possibility that Jesus was exposed to Sanskrit during
the lost years that are not recorded.
The Three Component Activities of Antara
Antara Center is comprised of three major branches:
1. The Educational Center is dedicated to spirit-based teachings to assist each
person to transcend and transform to a place of balance, to nurture themselves
and others, and to connect to nature.
2. Our Retreat Programs will carry people away from the stress of day-to-day life to
reconnect with Spirit-based principles, to gain inner wisdom, and coping
strategies for re-entry to everyday living.
3. The Integrated Healing Center will be housed in its own facility to provide
holistic healing that is complementary to traditional medicine.
Phase One: Antara Education Center
Presently operating, the educational branch provides a positive reputation as a
safe and sacred place to learn and heal. The educational center consists of a
faculty of thirty one practitioners who are credentialed within their
specialties and adhere to our code of ethics.
A curriculum of 65 unique classes covers three categories of spiritual
instruction:
- Life skills: Designed for the general public to begin to move from ?outward
knowledge? to ?inward knowing? with ancient wisdom and coping skills.
- Healing modalities: Designed for those who want to practice spiritual healing
methods for themselves or others.
- Ancient Teachings: For those who wish to learn advanced healing and
teaching techniques of ancient spiritual practices from around the world.
In 2008 we will begin offering a corporate Health and Wellness curriculum
that promotes work/life balance to employees of corporations. The benefits we
will bring are: reduced healthcare costs, reduced employee absences due to
illness, reduced stress, improved morale, and improved productivity. We also
have a highly-credentialed faculty of twelve that specialize in this area of
health and wellness.
Our initial target will be with reduction of stress on all levels: employees,
middle management, and senior management. We expect a very positive return on
investment for our customers. The unique difference between our
highly-credentialed staff and other offerings in the market is that the education center at Antara is spiritually-based. Ms. Mickle currently has Fortune 100 customers
across several industries. She will approach these existing customers that she
has known for 12 years with this Health and Wellness curriculum. A prospective
research study with a major medical university is also a strong possibility.
We presently teach all classes at four locations in Nashville while we pursue
acquiring a permanent location. These locations are spaces rented in the north,
east, south, and west portions of our city.
Phase Two: Antara Spiritual Retreats
Spiritual retreats will soon be offered at those facilities that meet our rigorous
screening for:
- A Safe Environment
- Natural and Peaceful Settings
- A Sanctuary to Connect with Spirit
Phase Three: Antara Integrative Healing Center
It is the goal of Antara Center to present the medicine of the future today.
The third and final phase of our development program will be to expand the
Center to include an integrative healing center, a spiritual retreat and
educational center that would provide the integration of traditional medicine
with complementary integrative healing practices.
This phase will combine the best of traditional medicine with the best
alternative methodology, treating physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
causes of disease. We believe that profound healing potential lies in the
merging of traditional medicine with ancient wisdoms from around the world. The
co-created process for each patient/client is individually assessed for their
whole person healthcare and well-being.
We have also met with a large medical university located in Tennessee and have
had discussions and anticipate more meetings with them about the use of our
courses within the integrative medicine program currently under development at
this university. Ms. Mickle has been invited to serve as a member of their
spiritual advisory committee. Ms. Mickle and Dr. Miller participated in their
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Design shop in May, 2005, which
included participants from ten major medical universities from across the U.S.,
senior faculty and staff, complementary care practitioners, and consumers. This
CAM design shop was very successful.
