How Antara Came To Be
Antara Center was founded by Janice Mickle, who serves as the Chief Executive
Officer. She describes here how she was inspired to create Antara Center: "My brother, Harley Clouse, died unexpectedly at the early age of 50 from pervasive
colon cancer. The tragedy of his untimely death in 1994 was the catalyst for my
spiritual growth. I was motivated to seek the purpose of my own soul for this
lifetime and began an intensive period of spiritual study and exploration. I was given a spiritual vision of this center and have followed the guidance of Spirit throughout the creation of Antara Center. I was shown that it was to be a center for
spiritual education, for those needing spiritual retreat to rest and restore
themselves, and for the practice of integrative healing".
Today Antara Center thrives due to the energy and gifts of many wonderful volunteers, staff members and advisors. We have over 900 supporters that share an interest in our progress. Key Volunteer positions for Antara include those who manage our Web Site, Marketing and PR programs, and volunteers. The activities of Antara Center are guided by an Advisory Board and Wise Council (Board of Directors) who have nurtured the
development of Antara Center since before incorporation in September, 2004. Currently thirty faculty members provide a wide variety of wonderful classes and workshops organized along three major categories: Life Skills, Ancient Teachings, and Healing Modalities. In 2008, Antara will launch two new programs: Corporate Curriculum, which will offer stress reduction and a curriculum for work/life balance to businesses and a Retreat Program, which will be open to the public.
We are moving forward with our first permanent location for Antara Center. and we are nearing final selection of that location. This is an exciting time for Antara. Our vision provides hope that a person can live a worthwhile and meaningful life with the spirit, mind, emotions and body all engaged. This vision is grounded firmly in
the physical but is directed by Sprit; and because of this, it is manifesting at a rapid pace.
