Faculty Bio
Cathy Burton Crocker
| Bio: |
Cathy Burton laughingly describes herself as being a little of both “Dharma AND Gregg”, having walked the two often disparate worlds of corporate business enterprise and spirituality, eastern philosophy, energy healing and bodywork. Cathy has spent over 25 years in corporate management positions in sales, systems development and project management in the communications and financial services industries. About 15 years ago, she embarked on an ever-evolving path of exploration into the healing of body, mind and spirit through understanding the interplay of energies and their flow, the balancing of the elements and importance of relationship in our lives. Cathy is particularly drawn to eastern practices of meditation, Reiki, Shiatsu, and the application of Chinese Five Element Theory and Traditional Chinese Medicine through herbalism and whole foods. She is a student of creating healing spaces through energy awareness and the application of Feng Shui principles. She’s studied Sacred Geometry through the Flower of Life course created by Drunvalo Melchizidek.
Cathy has a certificate in Advanced Massage Therapy from the Palmer Institute of Massage Therapy in Massachusetts and recently received National Certification from the National Association of Massage and Bodywork. In 2004, Cathy left big business to create a work life that would allow her to leverage her business experience while making a living doing what she loves! Her first venture, Anam Chara Designs, a business selling jewelry and gifts through home parties was born in December 2004. She is now working on her massage and bodywork offerings and opening her studio, Tranquility Body Works, and is creating a website www.HealingEmporium.com that will be a retail and informational site.
Cathy and her husband of six years, Jimmy Crocker, recently relocated to the Nashville area from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. They have many friends in the Nashville area and after many visits over fourteen years, are thrilled to call Nashville home!
